Mil plain irrigation system
Pressurised irrigation network for agricultural land.

A pressurised irrigation system covering 3,000 hectares was built with Ø110–500 mm PE100 SDR17 pipes.
An agricultural holding on the Mil plain decided to move from open-channel irrigation to a pressurised system. The aim was to cut water losses, raise yields and manage irrigation more precisely.
Covering 3,000 hectares required an extensive network of long mains and distribution lines. The pipes had to resist sunlight, temperature swings and fertiliser-dosed water, and the system had to be ready before the growing season.
We proposed Ø110–500 mm PE100 SDR17 pipes — a class that meets irrigation pressures while saving material. The mains were joined by butt fusion, and the whole network, from pump stations to the fields, was designed as a single system.
The pressurised irrigation system was commissioned before the season began. Compared with open channels, evaporation and seepage losses fell significantly, and even water distribution across the fields supports higher yields.
